Terms of Service
The terms that apply when your organisation uses CI-Addon. Version 2026-10-28.
About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of CI-Addon, a service provided by For A Fact ApS, CVR 40 58 49 43, Gammel Køge Landevej 55, 2500 Valby, Denmark ("For A Fact", "we", "us"). Contact: support@ci-addon.com.
By creating an organisation in CI-Addon, starting a trial or buying a subscription, you accept these Terms on behalf of the company or organisation you represent ("Customer", "you"). You confirm that you are authorised to do so.
1. Business customers only
1.1 CI-Addon is sold only to businesses, public bodies and other organisations, not to consumers. Consumer protection rules, including the right of withdrawal, therefore do not apply.
1.2 The Data Processing Agreement ("DPA") forms part of these Terms.
1.3 If you have signed a separate written agreement with us (for example an Enterprise agreement), that agreement takes precedence over these Terms where they differ. For the processing of personal data, the DPA takes precedence over these Terms.
2. The service
2.1 CI-Addon is a web application that works together with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys ("CIJ"). Depending on your subscription, it lets you translate and style CIJ forms, route visitors to the right form by country (Smart Embed), keep a record of consent texts, monitor forms, and publish event portals based on events in CIJ. The current features are described on ci-addon.com.
2.2 CI-Addon generates scripts that we host on our content delivery network (cdn.ci-addon.com) and that you place on your own website. Event portals are hosted by us on our domain or on a domain you connect.
2.3 We develop the service continuously. We may add, change or remove features, provided that the core functionality of your subscription is not materially reduced during a paid period.
3. Microsoft Customer Insights – Journeys
3.1 CI-Addon is an independent product. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Microsoft.
3.2 You need your own valid licence for CIJ. Your use of CIJ is governed by your agreement with Microsoft.
3.3 CI-Addon depends on CIJ, including Microsoft's form loader, forms, events and APIs. We are not responsible for the availability, function, security or changes of Microsoft's services. That includes errors in forms, submissions, emails, events or data in CIJ.
3.4 Form submissions and event registrations are sent from the visitor's browser directly to Microsoft. They are not stored by CI-Addon.
3.5 If Microsoft changes CIJ in a way that affects CI-Addon, we will make reasonable efforts to adapt the service. If a feature can no longer be offered, we may change or discontinue it. If this materially reduces a feature you have paid for, you may cancel the affected subscription and receive a refund of the prepaid amount for the remaining period.
4. Account and users
4.1 Users sign in with their Microsoft account. Users must be employees or consultants of the Customer, or others acting on the Customer's behalf.
4.2 Owners and admins of your organisation control who has access, and they can invite and remove users. You are responsible for all activity under your organisation and for removing users who should no longer have access.
4.3 Notify us without undue delay if you suspect unauthorised access to your organisation.
5. Trial
5.1 New organisations get a free 14-day trial with all features enabled. No payment card is required.
5.2 If you do not buy a subscription before the trial ends, access is closed and the rules in section 9 apply.
6. Subscriptions, prices and payment
6.1 Subscriptions are bought in the app (Settings → Subscription) or by separate agreement. They run monthly or yearly and renew automatically for the same period until cancelled.
6.2 Prices are listed in euro (EUR) on ci-addon.com and exclude VAT, which is added where applicable. A bundle discount is applied as shown in the price calculator.
6.3 Payment is made in advance for each period by payment card. Payments are processed by our billing provider Alunta and the payment provider Stripe. Enterprise and yearly customers may be invoiced by agreement.
6.4 If a payment fails, we will retry it for 7 days. If the payment still fails, the subscription is cancelled and section 9 applies.
6.5 Changes to your subscription:
- Upgrades and new add-ons take effect immediately. The price is adjusted proportionally for the current period.
- Downgrades and removals take effect at the next renewal.
- A switch between monthly and yearly billing takes effect at the next renewal.
6.6 We may change our prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period. If you do not accept the change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
6.7 Paid amounts are not refunded, except as stated in sections 3.5, 15.2 and 16.2.
7. Your content and your responsibilities
7.1 "Customer Content" means forms, translations, styling, consent texts, event content, logos and other material you or your users add to CI-Addon, or that we fetch from your CIJ environment on your behalf.
7.2 You are responsible for Customer Content and for your use of the service. This includes:
- your website, your cookie consent and your privacy notice to your visitors (which should mention CI-Addon as a processor where you use Smart Embed, form capture or event portals),
- the wording and legal validity of consent texts, double opt-in settings and other marketing permissions,
- choosing which countries require double opt-in in Smart Embed.
7.3 Automatic translation. When you use automatic translation, CI-Addon first looks up each form text (such as field labels, placeholders and form messages) in a shared translation dictionary. Only texts that are not already in the dictionary are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic), without any information about you or your form. The resulting translations are added to the dictionary.
7.4 Shared translation dictionary. The dictionary is shared by all CI-Addon customers and does not show which customer a text came from. You give us a non-exclusive, perpetual right to keep form texts and their translations in the dictionary and to reuse them for other customers. This right continues after deletion under section 9. Translations you write or edit yourself in your forms are not added to the dictionary. Do not include personal data or confidential information in form texts.
7.5 Machine translations can be wrong. You must review all translations before publishing them, in particular consent texts and other legal texts.
7.6 Smart Embed. Smart Embed selects a form based on the country that the visitor's IP address points to. Country detection is not always accurate, for example when a visitor uses a VPN. If the country cannot be determined, or our service cannot be reached, the double opt-in form is shown. If our scripts cannot be loaded at all, the form may not be shown. You remain responsible for collecting consent in line with the rules that apply to you.
7.7 If you give us access to your CIJ environment, for example through API details, we use that access only to provide the service.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use CI-Addon in violation of applicable law or to publish unlawful content,
- try to gain unauthorised access to the service, other customers' data or our systems,
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the service, or make it available to third parties outside your organisation without our written consent,
- circumvent limits in your subscription,
- load test, scan or otherwise put unreasonable load on the service without our consent.
9. Cancellation, end of access and deletion
9.1 You can cancel your subscription at any time in the app. There is no notice period. The subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
9.2 When the subscription ends (or the trial ends without a purchase):
- Day 0: access to the app is closed, except the Billing page and the export of your consent archive.
- Day 14: your scripts on our CDN are paused, so they no longer change your forms, and your event portals are taken offline.
- 30 and 7 days before deletion: owners and admins receive an email.
- Day 90: your organisation and its data are permanently deleted. This includes forms, translations, styling, scripts, event portal settings, logos and connected domains, as well as user accounts that do not belong to any other organisation.
9.3 If you buy a subscription again before day 90, your data and scripts are restored.
9.4 Invoices and accounting records are kept by our billing and accounting providers for as long as accounting law requires.
9.5 Export the data you need, for example the consent archive, before deletion. We cannot restore data after day 90.
10. Availability and support
10.1 We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep CI-Addon available and working. We do not guarantee any specific uptime unless a written agreement says otherwise.
10.2 We may carry out maintenance, and we will try to do so at times with little traffic. We may temporarily restrict the service if this is necessary for security or stability.
10.3 Support is provided by email (support@ci-addon.com) on Danish business days. Response times depend on your subscription or written agreement.
11. Intellectual property
11.1 We own CI-Addon, including the software, the generated scripts (other than your Customer Content in them), our designs and our documentation. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your organisation while your subscription or trial is active.
11.2 You own your Customer Content. You give us the right to store, process, copy and display Customer Content to the extent necessary to provide the service.
11.3 We may use suggestions and feedback you give us without any obligation to you.
11.4 We will not name you as a customer or use your logo without your consent.
12. Data protection and confidentiality
12.1 We are controller for personal data about your users (name, email address, organisation, roles and invitations), for billing, and for our website. This is described in our privacy policy.
12.2 We are processor for you when Smart Embed, form capture scripts and event portals process data about your website visitors and event participants (such as IP addresses, browser data and, in the visitor's browser, the data they enter in your forms). This is governed by the DPA.
12.3 We do not store your visitors' form submissions or registrations.
12.4 Both parties will keep confidential any non-public information received from the other party, such as business information, prices agreed outside the public price list, and security information. They will use it only for this agreement. This obligation continues for 3 years after the agreement ends. It does not apply to information that is public or that a party must disclose by law.
13. Liability
13.1 The service is provided "as is". Apart from what these Terms expressly state, we make no warranties, for example that the service will be error-free or suit a specific purpose.
13.2 Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. This includes lost profit, lost revenue, lost leads, lost data, lost goodwill, and loss caused by forms or event portals not working or not being displayed.
13.3 Our total liability under these Terms and the DPA is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
13.4 The limitations in this section do not apply to loss caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
13.5 We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control (force majeure). These include failures at Microsoft, hosting, network or payment providers, cyber attacks, war, natural disasters, strikes and public orders.
14. Suspension
We may suspend your access, fully or partly, if you do not pay, if you materially breach section 8, or if this is necessary to protect the service, other customers or third parties. We will notify you, and where possible we will give you the chance to fix the problem first.
15. Termination
15.1 Either party may terminate the agreement with immediate effect if the other party materially breaches it and has not fixed the breach within 14 days of written notice.
15.2 We may stop offering CI-Addon with at least 90 days' notice. If you have paid in advance for a period after the end date, we will refund the unused part.
15.3 Sections 7, 9, 11, 12.4, 13 and 17 continue to apply after the agreement ends.
16. Changes to these Terms
16.1 We may change these Terms. We will notify owners and admins by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Minor changes, such as clarifications, take effect when published.
16.2 If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel before it takes effect. If you have paid for a yearly subscription in advance, we will refund the unused part. If you continue to use the service after the change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.
16.3 The current version is always available at ci-addon.com/terms. Earlier versions are available on request.
17. Governing law and disputes
17.1 These Terms are governed by Danish law. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.
17.2 The parties will first try to resolve any dispute through negotiation.
17.3 Disputes that cannot be resolved this way are settled by the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret) as the court of first instance.
18. Other terms
18.1 You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer the agreement to a company that takes over CI-Addon, and we will notify you if we do.
18.2 We send notices by email to the owners and admins of your organisation. You send notices to support@ci-addon.com.
18.3 If any part of these Terms is invalid, the rest remains in force.
18.4 These Terms, the DPA and any written agreement between us make up the entire agreement about CI-Addon.
18.5 These Terms are written in English. If they are translated, the English version prevails.
